The Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology
is a state-level association providing a collaborative forum and knowledge exchange
for manufacturers in Colorado. The Association sponsors public workshops, events and programs
that benefit the manufacturing industry as a whole. There are over 6,000 manufacturing companies
in Colorado with employee wages higher than statewide averages, making this industry sector a
significant and vital part of Colorado's economy.
CAMT also hosts the Colorado MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership), part of a national network of manufacturing extension offices. CMEP is supported by federal dollars (NIST/Dept. of Commerce), matching funds from state governments and consulting fees from companies.
Core Service Areas
CMEP provides technical assistance to manufacturers in four main areas:
- Lean Enterprise
- Quality Improvement (ISO and Six Sigma)
- Strategic Management and Policy Deployment
- Marketing and Growth Planning

LEAN Certification Exam Review

The Lean Certification program, created and sponsored by three leaders in the manufacturing industry, Shingo, AME and SME, outlines a standard direction for individuals and companies to drive their improvement efforts. This program utilizes unbiased, third party evaluation of Lean knowledge and abilities and rewards development in Lean with an important industry-recognized credential.

Preperation and Certification Courses (February and April)

Until now, industry lacked a consensus-based tool for measuring proficiency with lean ideas and experience. The lean certification developed jointly by SME, AME and the Shingo Prize will help align lean practices within companies, throughout supply chains and across industries.
